A NEW BEGINNING + WE WANT YOU

Uncle Sam .. What a great guy! And he said it best : "We want you."
We're here to proclaim that this is a new beginning.

How many times in your life have you said that? I'm at one [ 1 ]. And the tiny little perfectionist in me is pushing to keep it at ONE. So Canadian-Tuxedo up, because $#*! is about to get real. Really freaking r e a l.

As you can see, the Two Little Elephants has undergone a little transformation. We may still be little, but let's make this B I G. We'll be each be posting every other day, five days a week. And all social media will be full steam ahead, so make sure to follow along!

But you, great citizens of America, WE WANT YOUTell us what you want to read, so we know what to write. After all, we do [ almost ] all of this for you.

See you in the comments .. or shoot us a message on Tumblr.

"Fall Things"

While studying The Pillow Book - a piece of ancient Chinese literature filled with the daily musings of its female author - in English class, we were assigned to create our own list. Taking examples from the literature, it could have been "Infuriating Things," "Things that Make One's Heart Beat Faster," or "Elegant Things," to name a few. I, instead, made a new list of things - "Fall Things" - and thought I would share it.
Fall Things
- - -
The roars of fans and the whistles of refs during the afternoon football games.

Being enveloped in the warmth of a clean, cashmere sweater.

The smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

Long car rides up and down highways lined with trees colored by their vibrant leaves.

The excitement that wells in your stomach out of anticipation for the upcoming holidays.

Wiggling your toes to find warmth inside your Bean Boots.

When you're greeted by fresh apple cider donuts on a Sunday morning.

Driving around with the windows slightly cracked.

The jingle of your dogs collar as you walk through the neighborhood.

An unexpected snowfall.

On a coat-less afternoon, when your laughter is the only thing keeping you warm.

What are your favorite things about fall?

Life Lately

Let's chat! Let's take a deep breath and have a little chat.
Life lately is getting a little hectic. More than a little .. a lot hectic. I think I've had something planned every single weekend since August. That's insane. And even when I have a few free minutes, my time is probably spent sitting still.

So where is the sudden on-spurt of my-hair's-a-mess-and-I-can't-think-straight chaos coming from? My sister's getting married in 11 [ eleven ] days !! The double exclamation points are used out of excitement, nervousness, stress - butterflies-flying-throughout-my-entire-body excitement and nervousness and stress.

We all knew that planning a wedding in eight months would be hard, but nothing that we - as a team - couldn't tackle. We're tackling it, for sure, but my goodness is it exhausting! Fun - so so so fun - but exhausting. I couldn't have asked for a more thrilling and joyous way to spend the months, days, and weeks in between the day they were engaged and the day they will be married.

That combined with school has been daunting. Few and far between are the moments I get to catch my breath and center myself. The gory details of this I will not bore you with .. I can't even bear to bore myself with them. But what this all comes down to is that right now, in this point in time, there's not room for anything else. My brain is full, my body is tired.

So, this is just a warning (and explanation) that blog posts will be sporadic over the next 11 days. Beginning the following week, I hope to be back to my usual blog grind! Instagram and Twitter is included .. the two have been neglected out of pure exhaustion, but they'll be getting their well deserved attention very soon.

5 Things I'm Obsessed with Lately

Let's chat! Not late lunch at our fave restaurant in our new cool outfit chat. I'm talking lying on my bedroom floor wearing our favorite sweatshirts and getting sore jaws from all the gasping and giggling chat. Yeah, that kind of chat. Go put on your favorite sweatshirt and camp out on the floor before proceeding. It'll make it so much better.
one | Something about the end of the summer and the beginning of the school year - surprisingly - drove an urge within me to start a new show on Netflix. I landed on Mad Men. And I've been addicted ever since. 1960's housewives and business men combined with a little bit of mystery and a whole lot of John Hamm. And because I'm a "fashion blogger," we can also say I love the clothes. Which I do. A little bit. No. A lot. More than a lot.

two | NYFW really sparked my love for Man Repeller. Love, obsession, infatuation, admiration. Because we already established that this little chat is going to a deep, personal place, I'm going to tell you that writing for Man Repeller would kind of be my dream job. No, not kind of. It would be my dream job. It is my dream job. I spend more time at school reading Man Repeller than I do on anything else. And I probably get weird looks from the girl behind me wondering why I'm flipping through photos of an weird lady wearing an even weirder outfit posing awkwardly on the streets of New York City. But I love it. So I probably won't stop. No, I won't stop. Very noncommittal today, my apologies.

three | Google News is an amazing invention. When I'm not reading Man Repeller, I'm probably scrolling through Google News. Choosing carefully which articles to read and which articles to stay away from for the rest of eternity (ie: anything about Ebola). But even still, scrolling Google News makes it easier to pretend you know what's going on in the world. Probably because you do, even just a little bit, know what's going on in the world. Pat yourself on the back, you cultural citizen of the worldly world you inhabit.

four | So I went to a Lorde concert a few weeks ago. It was a Sunday, it was way down town, it was outside, I hated my outfit. All in all, I was dreading the two hours I was about to spend in a hoard of screaming 20-something's, all most likely under the influence of something. It, somehow beyond my comprehension, turned out to be one of the most amazing nights ever. And I've been listening to Lorde nonstop ever since. Literally, nonstop. If you follow me on Spotify (I don't know why you would, but if you must...) you'll see how much I'm not lying. But really, she's kind of amazing. And she wrote (spoke) a kind of amazing love letter to Manhattan during the performance. And it kind of made me love her even more. But just kind of.

five | My bed is the one and only thing I'm living for lately. And I'm not saying this to be all trendy-Tumblr-depressed. I'm saying that my bed makes all the hard work pay off. My bed is like the piece of bacon hanging from a string in front of the treadmill. For my sister, it's a new bag. For my brother, it's Monday night football at the bar with his buds. And for me, right now at this very minuscule time period of my life, it's my bed. I promise my bed will eventually morph into a gorgeous pair of Chanel flats dangling in front of the treadmill. Eventually, but not yet. Maybe once I finish Mad Men.

That got deep. And I'm so happy about it. A little chat with your gal pals is important, and this was ours. Continue the conversation down in the comments - what are you obsessed with lately? Any of the same things as me?!

See You in a Week...

I've made an executive decision. I'm taking the week off. I wish that meant I was going on some exotic vacation riding elephants in Thailand, or simply heading towards warm weather and sunny days spending the week on the beach. I will be doing neither. In case you haven't heard - where have you been? - I transferred schools this year..Which comes with a daunting amount of adjusting and its stress. This is my first full week at school...dun dun dun. An organized and hardworking blogger would have foreseen a hectic week and planned ahead, but I'm not one of those. So what I'm getting at - school deserves all of my attention at the moment. (Not to mention, one sister's getting married in two months and the other's turning 30 on Friday. The family is practically imploding on itself. Won't bore you with those boring details.) And I won't bore you with any more back to school details. Promise!

I will see (?) you all next week!

A Back to School Update

So. I owe you a little update. An announcement of sorts. One that means more to me than it will mean to you. But an announcement nonetheless. Drumroll, please...!
I'm transferring schools!

The last two (maybe four?) weeks have been hectic, to say the least. It took me until the beginning of August to realize I was unhappy at school and literally could not stomach the thought of going back. After a week and a half of back and forth with my parents ("are you sure you want to transfer?") we bit the bullet. Called the school, set up a meeting, took a test. And then bam. I was enrolled. Telling my friends was a battle I dreaded fighting. But it had to be done. Everything's in place and my first day is tomorrow!

If you paid any attention last year, you would've known I was commuting into Manhattan everyday to my private UES school, pretty much living in real-life-Gossip-Girl. The commute was wearing on me, the academic pressure suffocating me, so I jumped ship. Regrets? None. I met some amazing friends, experienced the city (and learned it to a T!), and learned tons about myself. Overall, a pretty good experience. Onto the next...

Wishing everyone (well, maybe not everyone) an amazing school year!

Just a Quick Update...

I sort of dropped off the face of the Earth last Friday. And haven't really been seen since. As you may know, I travelled to LA on Friday. I thought my trip was going to be filled with shopping, delicious food, and Instagrams to prove it all. But, not at all to my dismay, I ended up spending all five days on the West Coast with my family. I put all my cares aside and truly went on a vacation and enjoyed my time with the people I love. I had a post scheduled for Monday morning, but had some technically difficulties scheduling for Tuesday. I thought missing one blog post for the week was harmless. When I didn't get home until 3:00 AM on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning?) I knew things were going to get a little hairy. I, rightfully so, slept until 1:00 PM on Wednesday (never have I ever!), only to hop up out of bed and out to catch up with friends before I skip town again. I, right now, should be jumping in the car to catch a ferry to go meet CMK in Fire Island, but I thought it would be proper to fill you all in.

So, what's next? CMK and I will spend a long weekend together out in that neck of the woods, hopefully creating some wonderful content for you all. But, posts today and tomorrow are questionable. We all need a little break sometimes, right?

I know I told you all to follow me and my adventures along on Instagram last time, and never posted. But this time I will. So hop to it, friends!

xx MGR

Beach Bound

I am beach bound this Sunday for three weeks! I am so excited to read a couple of good books, play tennis, ride my bike, complete a puzzle, and most of all, eat some delicious ice-cream! We have been renting a house on Fire Island for the past six years and usually stay a month to six weeks. Sadly, I have preseason for field hockey so I have to leave early, while my family stays behind. I will be writing from out there and will provide many photos on Instagram

14 FOR 2014 UPDATE :: JULY

Remember this little post from New Years? And the subsequent monthly posts? No, actually. I forgot. Forgive me. The last time I updated you all on my goals for the year was in March. I distinctly remember March being a particularly difficult month. And apparently so were April, May, and June. I guess this makes sense. I was finishing up my freshman year of high school, and life itself threw a few curveballs. Let's see what - if any - progress I've made in these three dormant months, shall we?
#1 | redo my room
Nope.

#2 | run over two miles without stopping
This I have a real excuse for, I promise! Rewind to the spring - I'm playing (the word playing is used loosely here) varsity (so is varsity) lacrosse, under extreme stress to complete end-of-year assignments, and experiencing constant stomach pain/discomfort. Blaming the stomach nonsense and the brain fatigue on school and the stress it brings, a doctor's appointment was procrastinated until the end of May. Lots of bloodwork and a week of exams later, Lyme's Diseases tests come back positive. I was given this bittersweet (bitter, because, well, Lyme's sucks; sweet, because finally there's an answer) news within 15 minutes of picking up the antibiotics I would have to be on for thirty days. And here we are. Here's why this is all relevant: the Lyme's itself was keeping me, subconsciously, away from exercising, and once I was diagnosed, the antibiotics took all that was even left in me right out. And so, I have yet to go on a run for the first time since January. Hopefully I'll get back into it soon.

#3 | read (at least) one book per month
Exams -> summer. I'm reading Pride and Prejudice, but really only because I have to.

#4 | cross a concert off my bucket list
Governor's Ball - singlehandedly making my summer totally worth it. I saw Vampire Weekend, crossing off the second entry on my concert bucket list, (which, by the way, is in need of an update itself..stay tuned for that!).

#5 | expand The Two Little Elephants
I'm working on this one, promise!

#6 | improve photography skills
I last-minute decided the summer would probably be a good opportunity to crack down on this. I found a camp that would've been really great, except, just my luck, I was already scheduled to be away during the week it was in session. Hoping and wishing and praying I get into the photography elective come September!

#7 | get a summer job
Nope. Next year, my friends.

#8 | create a functioning closet set-up
*crickets*

#9 | play varsity lacrosse
Don't remind me...

#10 | explore a new place
I visited Quogue for the first time last weekend! Hopefully more exploring is in the cards (I'm thinking a weekend in Charleston sometime soon!)

#11 | actually finish a needlepoint
I forgot about this entirely. Determined to get the Christmas ornament done by October. Determined.

#12 | keep my room orderly at.all.times
My room went through a rough stage towards the end of school. It's in a better place now, though. Decluttering is next on the list in this department.

#13 | post (at least) one outfit post a month
The proof is in the pudding! JAN, FEB, APR, MAY, JUN

#14 | save $x,xxx
With busy summer weekends, babysitting's been put on the back burning. But I do intend on knocking this goal outta the park.

Are you keeping up with your goals?

Happy Monday, all! If you follow us on Instagram, then you probably saw what we've been up to. I'm up in RI and falling in love with every minute of it. My sisters spent the weekend up here..it was two days of beaching and nothing - literally, nothing - else. No complaints here. One of my best friends will be spending the next few days with us and I'm so excited. Hopefully a trip to Newport is in store! I've been snatching some awesome photos on my DSLR, but stupidly forgot the cord to import them onto my laptop. I guess you'll have to wait to see those until next week! For now, definitely follow along on Instagram!

5 Things I've Learned as a Freshman

School is almost over! I can't believe I will be a sophomore so soon, it is so crazy. My schedule has been packed with tennis lessons, lacrosse, studying for finals, and planning some upcoming vacations. This year has definitely has had its highs and lows. Throughout this year, I have learned a bit more about myself and what I want to accomplish over the next couple of years.

1 // Being Alone is Okay
Both semesters I didn't have many classes with any of my friends, but even worse was when I didn't know anyone. I found myself constantly sitting alone in the corner trying to hide away. For this first couple of months, it was hard, and I found myself not focusing on what really mattered - schoolwork. Later on in February, I realized that it is fine to sit alone in class. A month later, a bunch of my friends were on a field trip, so I ate lunch alone. It was the most productive lunch I had this year. I got to study for an upcoming French test, and I beat 3 levels of Candy Crush. I mean sure, it sucks to be seen as that person eating lunch alone, but it is ok. After that awareness in February, I got my grades from a B to an A and became a better student. Overall, sitting alone in class is sometimes the better option.

2 // Be the First to say Hello
Throughout the year, I've had many tryouts in random places with random people. It was definitely
a struggle, since I am not the most outgoing person. After making a local club lacrosse team, I didn't know anyone at all! All the girls on my team went to completely different schools, lived in different towns, but they still all knew each other. At first it was awkward because I was on the outside of this clique. About a month into the season, I was over not talking to anyone during practice, so I decided to introduce myself. In the end, I befriended a bunch of new people from all over the place. Taking that extra step to say hello is worth it, because, in the end, they are probably just as shy as you are.

3 // Ignore the Idiots
The thing I love most about writing is that you can let all your emotions run wild. This year, I lost some friends, but also made new ones. In the past, I have had some friends troubles, but have just overcome them. This year was also a year of cleaning the closet of friends. People change, which everyone just needs to accept. I had trouble letting go of some close relationships over the past year, even though they were hurting me. Some friends changed gradually, but others were just a bombshell. Recently, I had been hurt by some people I have known all my lifetime, who I though were by my side. I was sobbing all that night, thinking why this would happen to me. I came to the conclusion that I need to just let go and ignore. It is hard, trust me I know, but just keep that mind set that you deserve better.

4 // Rejection isn't that bad
No. Two letters. One word. Everyone hates and fears it. From a young age, no was a word I dreaded to hear. I hate being rejected by peers, adults, and people in general. In addition, I would take it way too personally causing me to be an emotional disaster. The beginning of freshman year, all the girls in my grade were freaking out about a dance that was in winter. All the girls had to ask a guy, but since everyone was panicking one girl asked someone on the second day of school. This one girl caused every girl in the ninth grade to ask someone to a dance in December in September. To sum up the whole experience - it was awful. I asked 2 guys who just flat out said, "umm maybe," which, in boy code, means no. I was devastated, upset, and horrified. After 2 months I finally got a date, but the whole process was a catastrophe. Then I came to the realization that all they said was no. It wasn't that bad, and it could've been worse. From that day on, I ask people for their opinion and when they said no, I don't take it personally. Instead, I just let it slide off my shoulder and focus on what really matters.

5 // Procrastination is not the key
I forget many things if I don't jot them down on a piece of paper or in my iPhone. Also, I find myself to be very lazy on Saturdays and Sundays. On the weekends, I find myself never doing any homework till sunday afternoon/night. For a majority of the year, I was complaining and stressing out on Sunday nights. This led to Mondays being even worse than they already are. I found myself drowning in piles and piles of work, which led to me not being able to see my floor. About a month ago, I had nothing to do Friday afternoon so I did all my work that night. I had a happy and care free weekend ahead of me and boy did I enjoy it. I started trying to do all my homework early in the weekend and not to save it for the end. This is a life lesson that will last you your whole life, don't save something till the very end.

What have you learned this year?
xx, CMK

Until Next Time...

I've practically fallen off the map, haven't I? My apologies! I promised myself I'd get a few posts up this week, but, as we can all see, that didn't happen. I forced myself to spend the weekend - in its entirety - preparing for exams. And whatdayaknow, but that's what I've been swamped with this week. The exam schedule this semester practically spans 2 full weeks. The first half of this week was review, tomorrow is our first exam, this weekend - yes, Memorial Day weekend - is reserved for studying and studying only, and we finish up exams next week. Such a stinker!

Not only do I simply not have the time to plan and publish the most inspiring, colorful, entertaining blogposts, I can't even scrounge up enough mental energy. It's a bummer. But don't worry, come June 9th, I'll be raring to go. Summer will officially be in full swing and I would love nothing more than to invest time - probably too much time - in blogging. It's going to be an exciting few months, I promise, and they simply can't come any quicker.

So, until next time, my loves...

Top 5 Favorite Blogs

Hello! Yes, I am still alive! I am finishing up my lacrosse season, getting ready for summer, which means signing up for lacrosse and field tournaments basically every weekend. Sadly, I still have a month of school left, but I am sure it will fly by before I know it. My last lacrosse game is today :( but this also marks the start of many runs, a juice cleanse, and lots of SoulCyle.

I have been planning this blog post for about a week or so and definitely put a lot of thought into it. These blogs are not only my favorite reads, but my inspirations and my blog idols. One day, I hope our blog is an inspiration to others, as these blogs are to me. While making this post, I shed some frustrated tears. The text disappeared on these graphics and I flipped out. I had just spent the 2 hours picking images and fonts for it all to disappear! Right then I decided to use my free trial for Photoshop. Magic! I used the basic tools I have learned from school and put them to use. Voila! The pictures were fixed! Now I definitely plan to purchase Photoshop soon.

1 // M.A.S Fashion
Meet Mary. She is created M.A.S Fashion in 2010. It has everything from fashion to home to other quirky things. I look forward to her post every week and she inspires me constantly. I find her website layout to be the amazing. It is just very simple and classic, which makes it, to me, so perfect. Whenever I go shopping, I find myself constantly looking at her OOTD's. Mary definitely adds a twist to the classic look, weather it be purple sunnies or metallic tattoos. I would check her out ASAP.

2 // A Piece of Toast
This dynamic duo has it all from interiors, to fashion, to a very cute yellow lab (named Blue Moonbeam. in case you were wondering). Molly and Sally are sisters who started A Piece of Toast together in 2010. They currently reside in Dallas, TX blogging, taking photos, and being extremely cool. Sally and Moly provide ways for me to set up The Two Little Elephants. Their posts, pin-boards, and Instagram's help me (and MGR!) when we need a little inspiration.

Ali is my style inspiration at the moment. I'm trying to recreate all her outfit posts. How cool are those camo jeans in that pick above!? I find her style to be not so basic as others bloggers. She certainly puts herself out there and I am quite jealous of that quality. Ali started created A Dash of Details in 2010 and has expanded ever since. Her blog has developed a lot and has become very successful over the years.

4 // AK Studio
Interior design galore. Alexandra is the brains behinds A.K. Studio. Not only is she blogger, but she also is an interior designer. I've spent hours just looking through her portfolio. I just loved all her work. Did I mention she has some great wanderlust pics too? I am especially obsessed with her photos from Greece. If you're in need of some interior motivation, or inspiration, or both, check out A.K. Studio.

5// Stripes and Peonies
Gracey is the coolest high school student I have met with a blog. She has such great taste and style for someone our age. Gracey does a good job of updating her blog regularly, while attending school at the same time. I don't know how she does it! Sometimes, I can not even find the time to write up a quick post. I often find myself relating, laughing, and smiling at Gracey's posts. Gracey has been blogging for about a year now, and I sure her career is on the right path.

Hope you enjoyed this!

Summer Plans

*via

Summer is so close I can almost taste it. The end of school has snuck up and took me by surprise! I start finals next week, and they wrap up at the end of the following week. So of course the most popular question as of late: what are you doing this summer?

Me? Summer plans? Hah! I'm not one for concrete, structured summers. A summer job is practically imminent at this point, but my parents and I both decided that it can wait until next year. This summer, I'll be savoring every ounce of free time. I have a few plans up my sleeve...

In effort to do something productive, I'll most likely begin to research charities for my 10th grade service hours. I hope to find something and maybe even get a head start on the hours. Anything else productive? Is blogging productive? My sister asked me if I might be taking a break from it this summer...no! The exact opposite. I really hope to put my all into it. I'm thinking fun city excursions, recipes / how-to's / DIY's, and outfit posts galore. I'm also researching some photography classes I might want to take! Teaching myself Photoshop? Why not?

I really cannot wait to get a break from school. I feel like I'm up to my head in work lately..I've been so busy this week I haven't been able to get any posts up! Expect to see little of me for the next two weeks. And then, voila, freedom! You'll probably be seeing too much of me, come June. Join in on the fun, why don't you?

What are you up to this summer? Share, I'd love to hear!

Sea Island Photo Diary: Part II

I took tons and tons of photos on my trip. It was all too good not to capture. My dad is quite the photog, and I've talked to him a lot about my interest in it. Every time I pulled out the camera he had another helpful hint to pass along. I joked more than once about how I was turning into him (being that my camera's out more often than not), to which he always responded, "I'm not that bad!" or "It could be worse!" Yes, indeed, it could be..#EDSFTG.

Home, sweet home! I got back from my Easter vacation last week and am so excited to share some amazing content with you all. I wish it could've gone up sooner, but I was immediately bombarded with schoolwork upon arriving home. Hope you all enjoy it now!

As for the vacation itself? It was eventful - but I won't bore you with the gory details (a little sibling drama, a hint of travel horror, and a dash of plumbing issues..#cringe). We finally arrived on Wednesday afternoon after a few plane delays and one annoying detour. We were surprised and disappointed at the chilly, windy, cloudy weather, but headed to the beach club anyway to find the rest of our crew. The clouds soon after turned into rain...three days of rain. The sky finally began to hint at sun on Easter Sunday, so after brunch, we camped out at the pool, wrapped in towels and sweatshirts. Finally (after several hours of waiting), the sun broke through the clouds and we were getting our tan on. The two and a half days we had left were unimaginably beautiful - sunny, blue skies, bright flowers, striking palm trees, bike rides, ice cream, and plenty of smiles. Of course we spent every waking minute of our last couple days camped out at the beach - from sunrise to sunset - trying to get the tiniest bit of a tan. What can I say? Eventually we had to say goodbye to everyone, and everything, and ended up back home. Snap back into reality!

I was recently asked on Tumblr for some suggestions for a Sea Island vacation. Of course I spent a good twenty minutes writing up my favorite things to do down there, but I finally realized that the place itself - the scenery, the people - and the company you're with really makes the trip so special. We had four days of torrential downpour in what's supposed to be the sunniest and most beautiful vacation spot you've ever dreamed of, but I still managed had the time of my life with my family.

And the most exciting part of it all - drumroll, please - my sister got engaged! Cheers to that!

xx, MGR

PS: We hit 10k on Tumblr while I was away! Stay tuned for a celebratory giveaway very soon!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! I can not believe that Easter is already here, which marks a couple of big events coming across my path soon. This holiday will be quite for my family and not too hectic. My family and I plan on going to mass, brunch, and then spend the rest of day relaxing. Today, I am mentally preparing for my first day back at school and getting ready for months ahead. Before I know it, it will be May, then memorial day, and soon enough I will be taking my finals (eep!). Easter, for me, is the day that marks the beginning of the end.
How are you spending your Easter? Are you preparing for the upcoming months?

Heading to Warmer Weather

images: one, two

I've been counting down to this day for quite awhile. Today I'm heading south to an island in Georgia to spend a week with my entire family. We're bringing life back into an old tradition we've all been missing! I'll be there for an entire week and hopefully capture a lot of great content to share with you all. I hope I'm not deprived of Wifi so I can update TLE on the spot! Stay tuned here and on Instagram for fun and sunny bits and pieces of my vacation.

Where's your favorite vacation spot?

Confessions of a Teenage Blogger

photo via

I read Gracey's post, "#Confessions of a Teenage Blogger," last week and found it so relatable. I think the 'teenage blogger' must be a rare bread and therefore we can find tons of commonalities among us. I thought I would share my thoughts and struggles with blogging as a teenager.

The biggest issue? Being a full time student! I conveniently took up blogging and high school within the same week. At first, both endeavors were pretty easy to manage. I had a fraction of the school work and a fraction of the blog work. Since then, my school work has picked up a ton and my seriousness about blogging has also picked up a ton. The spring semester has thrown in another factor to juggle - lacrosse. I'm up at 6:00 every morning, in school from 8:00 - 3:00, and not home until 6:00 (at the earliest!). I work really hard to get ahead of my school work to lessen the amount I have at home and on the weekends. But even still, it's hard to fit blogging in! I try my hardest to write on the weekend and have posts scheduled throughout the week, but sometimes that isn't executed. It's serious exercise in time management skills.

Another thing I struggle with is putting out quality content without making too strong of commitments. I'm only 14 - a freshman in high school. This is my time to find myself. My taste has really gone full circle since I started writing back in August. It's really hard to be consistent in content when my mood and taste isn't necessarily consistent. This also plays a part financially. I would love to buy Photoshop, take classes, and pay for a professional blog design...but random babysitting jobs sometimes can't cut it! As supporting as my parents are, this blog isn't their responsibility. It's tough to juggle priorities and commitments like this!

As tough as it is sometimes, I love blogging with all my heart. It's the creative outlet I've dreamed of since I was little. I truly have fun doing it - whether it's writing posts, pinning to Pinterest, or creating graphics. I remind myself to embrace the fun stuff when I get overwhelmed or intimidated by blogging!

Are you a teen blogger? What do you struggle with? Any advice for fellow teen bloggers?

CMK's lust-worthy birthday gift | a window seat view |

Where have I been?! I can't even begin to tell you how crazy this month has been. I touched on it quite a bit when I updated you guys on my 14 for 2014. March got away from me! With my spring break coming to a close, I was prepping to spend last week banging out my to-do list and living up to my goals. Except, life threw in a curve ball that was hard to dodge. One of my best friends from school invited me and Noel (my other half) to spend a few days up at her country house on Tuesday night. Wednesday - Saturday...obviously that wouldn't pan out due to the amount I had to get done at home before returning to school! After about an hour of mulling it over, I decided I would power through my homework and some other dire tasks on Wednesday and get a ride up on Thursday morning. It couldn't have worked out better. A few days up in the country was exactly what I needed. I pretty much unplugged for three days. It was an awesome and much needed escape.

I really had to weigh the consequences of going away. It meant that some things just wouldn't be able to get done (ie: March's outfit post). In the end, I decided what I wanted to do. I think it's perfectly fine to sacrifice some thing in order to do things for yourself. It all comes down to what you want more.

What's coming next?! This week will be hectic - I'll be hustling to get back into the swing of my academic schedule, juggling lacrosse practice four times a week, and organizing my responsibilities for the upcoming weeks. Two weeks from Wednesday I'll be heading down south for a family vacation we've all been waiting on for months on end! Unfortunately, I'll be missing four days of school. I'll be putting my time management skills to work this week and next week to get ahead of my work and whatnot. But hopefully this vacation will make for loads of sunny content for TLE. Stay tuned!!

What are you up to this April?
